The panel discussion

“Building Cyber Resilience: From Security Fatigue to the Question of Trust”

In The Studio | 10:00-11:00

Panel members:

  • Henk Dujardin – CEO Belgium’s Cyber Security Coalition
  • Thibault Van Win – Lead Cybersecurity Competence Center @ Approach Cyber / AXS Guard

This is the panel of Connect IT 2026.

This panel explores how organizations and individuals are coping with the growing cyber threats, and whether trust in a digital world can still be taken for granted. Drawing on practical insights, current examples, and an open discussion, key topics will be addressed, such as security fatigue, decision-making during cyber incidents, and the often hidden impact of cyberattacks on financial, operational, and reputational aspects.

In addition, the session will address new vulnerabilities, including those posed by the IoT and connected devices, and the importance of cyber resilience: how organizations can build resilience and maintain trust in an increasingly complex digital environment. This session will combine practical insights, current examples, and an open discussion on challenges and solutions in cybersecurity.

The Ideas @ The Bar / Breakout session

“72 hours held hostage: the story of a cyberattack and lessons to prevent your organisation from becoming the next target”

One simple click. Three days of chaos. Months of recovery.

In this compelling presentation, Thibaut Van Win, SOC lead at AXS Guard (by Approach Cyber), shares a first-hand account of a ransomware attack that paralysed a Belgian financial services firm.
By reconstructing the attack minute by minute, he reveals the vulnerabilities that were exploited, the human errors that were made, the tools used by cybercriminals – and, more importantly, the keys to an effective response.

You will discover:

  • How an attack can spread within a matter of hours,
  • Why traditional security tools are no longer sufficient,
  • Best practices for strengthening your cyber resilience,
  • How well-prepared crisis management can save your business.

An authentic, informative and essential account for any organisation seeking to protect itself against today’s threats.
