Context of the Role

In pursuit of our ambition to remain a key player in the Belgian cybersecurity landscape, we are looking to strengthen our commercial impact and accelerate Approach Cyber’s growth in the market by welcoming a Trusted Advisor / Business Development Manager.

In a world of escalating digital threats, Approach Cyber’s mission is clear: we make organizations cyber resilient. We are looking for an entrepreneurial Business Developer who doesn’t just sell IT security but acts as a strategic partner to Belgian enterprises. You will help C-level executives understand their vulnerabilities, navigate complex regulatory landscapes (like NIS2), and build robust, long-term resilience frameworks using Approach’s elite ecosystem of solutions.

To achieve this, we are seeking a Trusted Advisor / Business Development Manager who can act as the vital link between the evolving cybersecurity and resilience challenges of our clients and prospects, and the wide range of expertise, solutions and services available within Approach Cyber.

You will play a central role in driving new business, developing strategic relationships, and positioning Approach’s value proposition with credibility and relevance, serving customer needs (SME’s, larger corporates and public institutions) across Belgium.

 

Are you the business developer we are looking for?

We are seeking a driven and entrepreneurial commercial profile to take a key role in expanding Approach Cyber’s footprint in the Belgian market. You will directly influence our growth, with the full autonomy to build your pipeline, develop your accounts, and establish Approach Cyber as the go-to cybersecurity partner for your clients.

This is, above all, a hunter profile. You are someone who thrives on creating new opportunities, opening doors, and converting prospects into long-term partners. Beyond sales capabilities, you act as a Trusted Advisor for your clients, helping them navigate their cybersecurity and resilience challenges while promoting Approach’s differentiated value proposition.

Your mission will be twofold:

  • Hunt and develop a portfolio of clients (from SME’s to large(r) corporates and public institutions) by proactively prospecting, opening doors, and generating qualified opportunities.
  • Act as a Trusted Advisor for your clients and prospects, helping them address their cybersecurity and resilience challenges while positioning Approach’s services with business relevance and credibility.

 

Your responsibilities

Represent & market visibility

  • Actively represent Approach Cyber in the market: attend and speak at industry events, publish regularly on LinkedIn, and contribute to growing our brand awareness and thought leadership.
  • Build and leverage a strong professional network to identify and generate new business opportunities from day one.

Prospecting & Hunting

  • Proactively reach out to new prospects
  • Reactivate inactive clients
  • Qualify and pursue Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs), ensuring continuous follow-up throughout the sales cycle and generate a healthy, qualified pipeline.
  • Work on selected tenders (from Sales Operations)
  • Seize relevant opportunities in a timely manner.

Account management & farming

  • Build high levels of trust and relationship with multiple stakeholders within your focus accounts.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of your customers through stakeholder mapping and regular, meaningful engagement.
  • Identify and develop commercial opportunities influenced by Approach’s areas of focus, turning every client milestone, challenge, or request into a business opportunity (cross-selling, upselling, extension).
  • Proactively manage contract renewals with the support of Sales operations.

Value selling

  • Elevate the conversation: Move beyond purely technical discussions. Translate complex cyber risks into clear business impacts, helping clients understand how cyber resilience protects their bottom line, reputation, and operational continuity.
  • Master and confidently deliver Approach’s corporate pitch and solution portfolio (high-level but 360°) with credibility and business relevance.
  • Simplify complexity, handle objections, and create long-term value for your clients through recurring service relationships.
  • Ensure customer 360 records are maintained and accurate at all times.

Building offers

  • Co-create proposals with the support of presales consultants and solution specialists.
  • Define pricing in line with Approach’s sales guidelines
  • Lead negotiations and close contracts at the right margin level.

Marketing support

  • Support marketing campaigns by activating your client base: events, webinars, testimonials, and more.

Post-sales transition

  • Clearly communicate mission briefs (project or service) to the consultants and teams involved in delivery.
  • Liaise with Project Managers, Delivery Manager, Consultants, and Accounting to ensure smooth and successful execution.
  • Follow up internally and externally to guarantee client satisfaction throughout the engagement.
  • Drive project closures: capture lessons learnt, secure client references and testimonials as part of our quality management approach.
  • Report field feedback to Head of Sales on a regular basis.
  • Keep your CRM pipeline up to date, using it as a strategic tool to prioritise focus, not as an administrative burden.

Profile

  • You have a proven track record in B2B sales, with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in business development, account management, or a similar commercial role (ideally in cybersecurity, IT services, or technology consulting) in Belgium.
  • Ideally, you have a strong macro-understanding of the cybersecurity landscape. You understand that security isn’t just about firewalls, but about holistic resilience, combining governance, human awareness, detection, and incident response.
  • You have a clear hunter mindset: proactive, autonomous, and energised by the challenge of opening new doors and generating opportunities.
  • You must be fluent in French and/or Dutch, with a strong command of English. Trilingual (FR/NL/EN) candidates are especially welcome.
